25th anniversary party for '85 Bears & the superbowl shuffle! November 5, 2010 I can’t believe its been 25 years since the unforgettable Super Bowl XX Bears championship! And omg how about the superbowl shuffle the team did that year (see video above). my pop warner football teammates and I totally pretended we were them and practiced the routine at our grade school sleep overs- where’s that video? embarrassing! Totally telling the ’85 bears that at their party tonight- are you coming too? About the party, Mike Ditka, along with more than 25 members of the 85 Bears team (Richard Dent, Jim McMahon, Dan Hampton, Gary Fencik and Willie Gault.. to name a few) will take stage tonight at the Arie Crown Theatre for “Glory Days, Legends of the Chicago Bears.” The team will begin the show by parading down the blue carpet in the lobby to greet their fans. They will then take stage to relieve some of the most memorable moments of that season through some never-before-heard stories. Ditka’s inspiration for the event was when he attended a similar event by head coach Tom Landry of the Cowboys where the players got up on stage, told stories and said “it was the funniest thing I’ve heard in my life.” He thought this type of forum would be the perfect way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Bears Super Bowl. Ditka describes the ’85 team as “characters who had character. They went out and they did their job. They played hard, they practiced hard and they partied hard.” This team dominated the season through a 15-1 regular season and huge win against the New England Patriots 46-10 in the Super Bowl. For tickets, visit www.glorydayschicago.com! a portion of the proceeds will go to the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, an organization that provides medical and financial assistance to retired NFL players in need.
