Civic Legal Corps hosts Fundraiser to Serve Families Unable to Afford Legal Help May 7, 2015 New Non-Profit Organization That Serves Families Unable To Afford Legal Help Hosts First Fundraiser with Second City Improv Ensemble at a Local Art Gallery! Have you or someone you know ever been unable to afford legal help? If so, you’re not alone – 3 out of 5 low and middle income people can’t afford a lawyer. This leaves many families dealing with basic legal problems involving housing, immigration, family, criminal, consumer debt, and elder law issues on their own. Fortunately, a new non-profit organization in Chicago, Civic Legal Corps, is here to help. Our team of talented new attorneys provides low-cost legal services for low and middle income people, helping keep families together and fight against poverty, joblessness, and violence. On Thursday, May 14th, we’ll partner with the Chicago entertainment and arts communities – as well as local leaders in philanthropy and law – to celebrate our new legal services program and plan for our future success. Join us for our 1st Annual Night for Art & Justice at the Mars Gallery and enjoy complimentary wine, hors d’oeuvres, comedy, a local art viewing, and an opportunity to meet our leadership team! Featuring a special performance by an improv ensemble from The Second City Chicago, you won’t want to miss this fun evening! Reserve your ticket here (or donate if you can’t attend). Space is limited! Thanks for your support and see you on May 14th!
