The Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival™ presented by MasterCard will return to North Michigan Avenue August 22 through September 1, 2014. This is a 10-day celebration that will fuse fashion, food, and Fitness in Chicago’s popular shopping district along Michigan Avenue.

I had a blast being on the Spike TV show, Frankenfood! A competition-reality series following New York executive chef and restaurateur Josh Capon and actor/musician/restaurateur Tony Luke Jr on their insane quest to find new and unique flavor combinations by pairing existing dishes together (think chicken flavored cheesecake and turtle tacos!?!) - the result tends to either be a delicious dish...or an awful miss! On August 7th, the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is hosting the fourth annual White Party at the MCA Warehouse. Named one of the Chicago Tribune’s top parties of 2013, this marquee event will feature a premium open bar, food from top Chicago restaurants including Rockit Bar & Grill, a live DJ, appearances by Chicago Fire players and more! Guests are encouraged to dress in their best white attire and get ready for a unique event that they surely won’t forget.

For the past few years, I have attended the Windy City Rubber Duck Derby here in Chicago. For those of you who haven’t been to the Rubber Duck Derby you can go on Thursday, August 7th. The event is held every year to benefit the Special Olympics of Illinois. Since 1968 the organization has been helping people with intellectual disabilities, and there are over 22,000 athletes who participate in this program.

The Great Bull Run is coming to Chicago this Saturday, July 12th at the Hawthorne Race Course and if you love new experiences, this is certainly the event for you! Enjoy the massive festival featuring great music, tasty food, cold beer, mechanical bulls, foam dance pits and more!
