Charity Fashion Show for Alliance for the Great Lakes

Hi there! I’m Tony Gordon, owner of Gordon Salon, stylist and longtime believer in providing services where beauty meets sustainability. That’s why Gordon Salon is hosting a Charity Fashion Show this Saturday to benefit Alliance for the Great Lakes and protect Chicago’s own Lake Michigan.

The effort is apart of Aveda’s worldwide Earth Month campaign for clean water, as the Great Lakes make up the world’s largest surface freshwater resource and provide drinking water to more than 40 million people. Alliance for the Great Lakes describes their mission as working “to conserve and restore [the Great Lakes through] policy, education and local efforts, ensuring a healthy Great Lakes and clean water for generations of people and wildlife.”

At the upcoming Earth Month Fashion Show, we will be debuting summer trends in hair and makeup with sun-protective clothing from Mott 50. All clothing from Mott 50 offers 50 UPF (ultra protection factor) to help keep us stylish and sun-safe on the beach, just in time for sizzling summer weather. Mark your calendars, because the Earth Month Fashion Show will be held this Saturday, April 27 at 7:15 pm at Gordon Salon in Lakeview located at 3336 North Clark Street.

With a $20 donation (online or at the door), guests can get a first glance at the fresh, breezy trends for the summer, as well as enjoy passed appetizers and drinks. All guests who donate ahead of time will be on a guest list at the door. Those who love what they see can purchase Aveda hair and beauty products and Mott 50 clothing at the event with a percentage of the profits benefitting Alliance for the Great Lakes.
