chicago 2016 viewing the olympic announcement October 2, 2009 Wow, that was sad. I know no one in our chicago 2016 committee viewing room ever could have imagined that we would go out first round. Don’t really know what to say, but thank you to all that supported. Everyone did the best job possible, everyone from around the world saw the positives of chicago and the usa which is always a great thing, and I am just very proud to be a part of your team. Sorry, I will have more to say soon… just need time, still in shock. for now, here is the sad scene from the announcement. Warning, it’s heavy. Off to cheer up… will keep you up to date on twitter with how the town reacts tonight… Wow, that was sad. Too bad we didn’t bring it home but we are Chicagoans and we stand tall. Congrats to Chicago for making it this far Reply john October 2, 2009 Tough defeat for Chicago and the USA as a whole; but great work spreading the word of this great city of Chicago to the world! Reply Emma Quinn October 2, 2009 Heartbreaking i’m sure u all worked so hard. Disappointing but what can you do. Chicago is a great city and to be a finalist is still an honor. 2016 is not our year but who knows maybe 2020 or maybe in the future one day. A favorite quote of mine “Sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck”. Our time will come if it doesn’t it’s not meant to be. Maybe now you can take some much needed time off BD.
