Drink Local Presented by Social Power Hour!

Hi everyone, it’s Tawny, Social Power Hour’s Marketing Manager. As a Chicago resident, you may not know some of the best local businesses in the area, but Drink Local is here to help!

Drink Local, which will take place on November 22nd at the Chicago Marriott at the UIC/Medical District, is for the thirstiest Chicagoans around!  It’s a one-day showcase of domestic distilleries, breweries, and wineries.  It places a special focus on the Midwest regions offerings, with a further emphasis on Chicago’s alcoholic offerings.

With unique vendors that range the gamut, the unifying factor is that all are specialty and craft products.  Here are some highlights from just a few of the brands that will be sampling out their fine wares.

Social Enjoyments is a light alcohol for the health conscious.  The gluten-free, sparkling sake wine is sweetened with natural stevia and contains just 88 calories per 10.5 ounces.  The first flavor released is a crisp, Cucumber Hibiscus.

Koval Distillery, one of America’s leading small batch, independent spirit manufacturers, produces a range of organic whiskey, liqueurs and specialty spirits.  Using ingredients from local mills, Koval makes organic spirits from scratch and offers a cleaner take on whiskey.

Spooky Beverages represents another facet of the beverage industry, by serving up a variety of cocktail mixers sans artificial additives.  Starting with a Bloody Mary Mix, the company has since ventured into margarita and daiquiri mixes that all possess a special kick and verve.

Attendees will be able to sample products from those mentioned above and more!  Everyone will be given a glass to take around to the vendors in order to sample some drinks, while listening to the tunes spun by a local DJ.

Guests who purchase VIP tickets will also have access to a VIP Lounge, featuring light bites, full size drinks and cocktails and a live bar demonstration.

After the event is over, the fun will keep raging on!  The official after party is at the newly opened, SHAY Chicago!  Guests will gain free entry to the cocktail lounge before 11pm.  Did we mention that tables at SHAY Chicago and its sister club, Cuvée, will be raffled off to attendees?
