Kollaboration Works to Build Strong API Presence in Chicago Entertainment through 2013 Showcase September 9, 2013 Empower through entertainment: that is the Kollaboration mission. Who are we? We are a non-profit organization that is dedicated to building a strong Asian and Pacific Islander (API) presence in the entertainment industry. We work not only to provide a creative outlet for API individuals to showcase their talent but also to redefine the presence and perception of Asian Americans in entertainment, media, and performing arts. Founded in 2000, Kollaboration began with a single show in Los Angeles and now produces 15 shows across 14 cities in North America. Kollaboration Chicago has a network of 50+ volunteers who are dedicated to making a difference in the API community. This year, we have a group of 12 talented finalists who are performing at our 2013 showcase. On the evening of Saturday, September 28, 2013, our finalists will gather at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie, IL for a chance to win $1,000. The winner will have a shot to compete at the Kollaboration Star national competition and battle for the $20,000 grand prize. By coming to our show, you can make an impact on the API community. Come support the entertainers and performers in our 2013 showcase. Join the Kollaboration Chicago network of fans, generous sponsors, and dedicated group of hard working students and volunteers who make the showcase possible. Help us keep the Kollaboration mission alive and let’s work together to empower through entertainment. Purchase your tickets here and see you on September 28th!
