Reimaging Chicago: Louder Than A Bomb’s 15th Anniversary Celebration February 21, 2015 Chicago welcomes Alfre Woodward, Alec Baldwin, and co-founder of A Tribe Called Quest, Ali Shaheed Muhammad to the world’s largest youth poetry festival, Reimaging Chicago: Louder Than A Bomb’s 15th Anniversary Celebration on March 1st. Attendees can enjoy a luxe brunch at SoHo House to kick start the day, and plenty of entertainment at Black Ensemble Theater to include live performances of spoken word poetry and musical numbers. Immerse yourself in the world of the young and talented writers of Chicago with Young Chicago Authors for a day of culture, education, and community building. Louder Than A Bomb was founded in 2001 by poet and YCA Artistic Director Kevin Coval. The goal was simple: provide Chicago youth with an opportunity to share their diverse and lived experiences through the art of poetry. Nearly 15 years later, Louder Than A Bomb has grown exponentially, becoming YCA’s biggest event, creating a supportive cultural space for young people to gather, allowing their unique voices to be heard.
