Growing up my best memories were the ones sitting with my grandpa and listening to Jazz and Big Band music. The appreciation for the way all of the individual instruments could mesh as one to create something so special as an emotional groove was something I will never forget. This music appreciation from a young age was so influential in my life, from my high school music programs, professional dancing career, night club djing, and of course my radio career. That is why The Chicago Academy of Music really caught my attention as something I wanted to be involved with.

Long story short, I changed my name on twitter on my bday last Friday from @BillyDec to @BD thinking it was the smartest thing to do being less characters, so unique, so hard to get.. But immediately a ton of people said they didn't like the name change at all! Did I make a mistake?!? Help me decide what my name should be, vote here now please! Will go with the name with the most votes by next Friday (11/11/11) at 5p. When I am not working with my Rockit Ranch family to deliver the best in food & fun at our establishments, I love working to entertain people on TV, Movies, here on my blog & any other way that I hope makes people happy as well (my reel). Most of the time it's on my weekly segment Thursdays 9a on ABC TV's Windy City Live, but I also like auditioning for parts in movies and tv shows that are in town filming, like this one for FX's newest pilot "Powers" where I play a Chicago cop.

As one of the headlining shows during Fashion Focus Chicago, Conscious Living TV presents Vert Couture. This runway show is ready to wow the crowd and make fashionistas fall in love with the fashions of 2012. This Thursday, October 20th, prepare to get your green on with this 3rd annual event. Vert Couture is unlike any other fashion show out there- it focuses on Chicago’s sustainable fair trade fashion movement and the runway takes place on one of the largest green roofs in the Unites States! It was created by Michael and Bianca Alexander, founders of Conscious Planet Media, an Emmy award-winning green television, video and film productions company. Billy is on the host committee and thrilled to be a part of this earth-friendly evening of fashion.

Keeping up with the latest fashion could really be a full-time job! Styles come and go with the seasons and beauty trends never really last. I'm a jeans and a tshirt kind of guy, but if I had to say there is one thing that never goes out of style, it would be quality time with friends and loved ones.

Back in 1986, a high school wise guy came to Chicago and stirred things up a bit. People danced in the streets and Wrigley Field was taken over by three juvenile delinquents - all for a day off. Now, 25 years later, the legend of Ferris Bueller lives on.

Everyone from Chicago knows the story: In October of 1871, a huge fire blazed through the city of Chicago, destroying everything in its path. It was probably caused by infamous O'Leary cow. But whatever the reason, from out of the ashes, Chicago arose a new, bigger and better than ever. Now, coinciding with the 140th anniversary of the Chicago Fire, the Lookingglass Theatre is inviting Chicagoans to take a deeper look inside this infamous event with the play The Great Fire.

I want to share with you one of my favorite local Chicago bands, The Scissors. More importantly I'm here to get your eyeballs on their new music video cover song of Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It" starring Yvonne Szumski in her new role as lead singer. (She used to be one of the guitarists with Darren Vorel as the lead vocalist.)
