Artsy Ball: The 2012 Visionary Ball October 29, 2012 On November 2nd, a fabulous ball will be held to commemorate and honor one of the art communities’ most valued and respected “outsider” art activist. Cleo F. Wilson, a founding member of Intuit and former Executive Director of the company, also spent 25 years at Playboy Foundation while using her powers for good around the Chicago art community to inspire and encourage those around her. The philanthropist and art activist will receive the 2012 Visionary Award for her respected achieved efforts that have helped make Intuit the organization it is today. The organization I’m talking about is of course Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art. At Intuit, they strive to spread their mission of nurturing outsider, self-taught, and unconventional artists. The organization believes in all kinds of artists – whether they are outside of the normal realm of artistry, are self-taught artists. The night begins at Sofitel Chicago where Gala Chair Michelle T. Boone and Co-Chairs Sunny Fischer, Deborah Harrington, Rebecca Sive and Nikki Will Stein will kick off the event benefiting Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art. A $250 ticket gets you dinner, drinks, a shot at the silent auction and the musical likings of Funkadesi – While dinner isn’t served until 7:30, guests are invited to arrive when doors open at 6:30 to enjoy cocktails before the feast! An influential 15-person host committee will also be in attendance of the event sponsored by PepsiCo, Robert A. Roth, and the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation. Guests are encouraged to dress in “Funky Chic” attire to applaud Cleo F. Wilson’s so-far career. Find tickets for purchase and donation opportunities here.
