American Cancer Society Making Strides of Chicago October 8, 2015 Put on your pink and help finish the fight against Breast Cancer! Head out to Soldier Field on Saturday October 24th to walk and raise funds for the American Cancer Society Making Strides of Chicago! Each step of the 5K is a step in the direction of better education, awareness, and a world with more birthdays. You won’t be alone whether you want to walk as a team or as an individual. Everyone will be there to show support for survivors, those currently fighting, and those affected by breast cancer in any way. As a participant, you will be helping raise critical funds that enable the American Cancer Society to fund groundbreaking research. Funds also provide free, comprehensive information and support to those touched by breast cancer; and help people take steps to reduce their risk or find it in the early stages when it is most treatable. The American Cancer Society also uses the funds raised to support programs for those fighting breast cancer. The Road to Recovery program provides transportation to treatment. Look Good Feel Better® helps cancer patients improve their self-image by teaching beauty techniques to manage the side affects on appearance from treatment. I Can Cope® is a program for people facing cancer, their families and friends. Those are only a few of the available programs that your participation will help support.
