Chicago effort to help Victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, hosted by the Consul General & Billy Dec at Sunda

Officials say the death toll is reaching 10,000 people 3 days after the Philippines was hit by Typhoon Haiyan, one of the strongest storms ever recorded in history. Philippine Red Cross shares “We have bodies in the water, bodies on the bridges, bodies on the side of the road.”

I am Filipino-American, my mom is from there, I have visited many times throughout my life to spend time with family, and I’m beyond heartbroken about this. Join me in helping the victims fast, any & all help is needed badly.

The Philippine Consul General Leo Herrera-Lim & I are hosting a lunch fundraising event Friday (11/15), 1130a-3p, at Sunda, where all proceeds from the lunch, and other donations collected leading up to the event, will benefit the Philippine Red Cross. Sunda Exec Chef DeGuzman & Exec Sous Chef Morales, also of Filipino descent, will be preparing very special Filipino food offerings to add on to the menu for this special event.
