Did you work on “LUCAS” when it was filmed around Chicago and Glen Ellyn back in 1985?  Or are you just a BIG FAN of the movie?  Then come help the Glen Ellyn Historical Society celebrate the movie that started the careers of Jeremy Piven, Winona Ryder, Courtney Thorne-Smith, and former resident Tom Hodges

“LUCAS” was written and directed by David Seltzer (THE OMEN).  It’s a story about falling in love for the first time… and the heartbreak that often comes with it.  Played with an incredible honesty and vulnerability by the now deceased Corey Haim, Lucas risks life and limb to try and prove to the girl he loves that being small (and dorkish) shouldn’t matter in the game of life.

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the film’s release, the Glen Ellyn Historical Society will host two screenings of “LUCAS” this Saturday, April 30th. The early screening is at 2PM and tickets cost $5 INCLUDING POPCORN!  The evening screening at 7PM is a special event where former Glenbard West High School students and other community members will share their memories of the filming. Admission to the evening screening will be $15 ($10 for GEHS members) and includes wine, cheese, dessert and popcorn. There will also be a display of some original costumes, production photos, video from the 1986 press kit, and a special introduction from Glen Ellyn’s very own Tom Hodges who plays “Bruno.”

Both events will occur at the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main Street. Tickets are limited and may be purchased in advance at Stacy’s Corners Store at the History Center, 800 N. Main St. Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. For more information, call 630-469-1867.
