Freebie App and Buckfeet Partner to Benefit Boys & Girls Club of Chicago December 18, 2013 BY: Freebie (Hank Ostholthoff) Chicago startups are looking beyond the newest products and services this holiday season. This year, Freebie and Bucketfeet have partnered to donate shoes to the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago in an effort to help kids in need with a new pair of kicks. It’s nice to see startups give back to the local community, and that so many Chicagoans are using their social capital toward a good cause, in addition to checking out the new restaurants and merchants in the city. On Friday, December 20th, kids and tech entrepreneurs will gather at Valentine Club for some pizza and other live music entertainment. All are welcome! At the event, kids will be receiving their shoes and drawing their own design. Social Media is the new currency. Most people who are reading this post already know (or should know, at least): Chicago businesses are providing valuable products and experiences for free based on your social media presence. And this holiday season we’re taking it a step further: now you can use your social media capital to donate a pair of shoes to kids at the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago. For every person that redeems this product on the Freebie mobile app, Freebie will give a pair of shoes to a child at Boys & Girls club. So please: redeem this product and we’ll make sure another Chicago kid gets a new pair of shoes!
