Bradley Kent has never hosted a comedy show before.  In fact, he’s never done stand-up.  So how did he get a hosting gig at Hoo HA Comedy, one of Chicago’s best stand-up comedy showcases?  Bradley, 26, is living with autism, and Hoo HA Comedy producer Ali Clayton works with Bradley at his home during the day.  “He wants to do stand-up.  He talks about it all the time,” Clayton says.  “We wanted to have a night where he could be a star, and use it as an opportunity to raise money for a good cause.”

She continues:  “I’ve been Bradley’s caretaker for the past four and a half years.  He requires around-the-clock care.  As soon as you meet Bradley, it is impossible not to love him.  He’s so loving and funny; I could be having the worst day, but as soon as I see him, I can’t help but smile. Bradley loves being the center of attention and he is the king of knock knock jokes.  He may never be a professional comic, but on Sept. 30th, he is going to be the star of the show!  We’re so excited about this opportunity for Bradley to showcase his talents while raising money for members of our community living with developmental disabilities.  The Center for Enriched Living is an invaluable resource for Bradley and others like him, and we hope people can continue to enjoy this place for years to come.”

On September 30th at 8 pm, Bradley will be hosting an all-star lineup of some of the best comedians in the country at Billy Dec‘s Rockit Burger Bar.  Closing out the show will be national headliner Patti Vasquez (WGN Morning Radio, TBS).  Vasquez is herself the mother of a child with special needs, and she speaks openly and frankly in her stand-up about the challenges and joys that this has brought into her life.  All proceeds from the show will be donated to The Center for Enriched Living.
