U.K. CORRAL: A DANCE PARTY CELEBRATION OF NEW WAVE, POST-PUNK, ELECTRO & ROCK N’ ROLL October 5, 2016 Hello, friends. My name is Matthew Kayser. I am the lead singer of Wired Minds. We are a Chicago band inspired by acts such as The Stone Roses, The Church, and Echo & The Bunnymen. In short, we get our kicks from the moody, yet triumphant, alternative rock of the 1980s and early ’90s. We are excited about the progress we’ve made in just over a year of being a band. We have appeared on WXRT, Q101, and Vocalo, and have performed at Metro, Double Door, and Schuba’s. We also recently released the digital version of our second EP, The Death of the Fear. Good times are ahead, for sure. Now we are thrilled to be a part of U.K. Corral, happening at Subterranean on Friday, October 14. U.K. Corral will be a dance party celebration of ’80s new wave, post-punk, and electro-pop. DJ Sweet Figurine will spin our faves from that era from 8PM-1AM, interrupted only by short sets by Wired Minds, Astrobrite, and Foreign Shores. I organized U.K. Corral so that folks like us can get away from the madness of everyday life and slip into the sublime sounds of the carefree and crazy ’80s. A quick glimpse at today’s headlines tells me we could all use some loud and lovely distractions. Hence, I hope you’ll join us as we dance and sing the night away at U.K. Corral.
