UniverSoul Circus Fuses Pop Culture & International Performances for Exhilarating Union Park Premiere October 9, 2013 I’m Cedric Walker, founder of UniverSoul Circus, the third largest circus in the nation. Back again in a city famous for its historic entertainment industry, I could not be happier to be welcoming Chicagoans to once again join in on all the excitement our bigger than ever, expanded, unexpected tour has to offer. 19 years ago, I set out with a vision to explore and share the various talents of performers from around the world to create one-of-a-kind family entertainment with UniverSoul Circus. Having previously produced rap festivals with legendary rappers like Run DMC and Salt n Peppa, I set out to incorporate hip-hop and pop music into traditional circus acts, uniting hand-selected talents from across the globe to create a spectacular and contemporary show. Today, UniverSoul Circus offers over 500 shows in 43 major markets and is excited to invite the Chicagoland area to our first-ever big top stop in Union Park in hopes to astound the West Loop and appeal to a multigenerational, multicultural audience with an unparalleled cast. Our show incorporates a highly interactive combination of circus arts, theater, and music that spans genres including Pop, Classic R&B, Latin, Hip Hop, Jazz and Gospel. It embraces and celebrates the unique and familiar aspects of pop culture globally by bringing them center stage with a cast of international performers and awe-inspiring routines. With a cast of vibrant, A-list performers who are eager to show Chicagoans what an unexpected circus means, we can’t wait for you all to see our head-turning acts such as ice skating, tightrope walking, Caribbean dancing, aerialists, acrobatics, quick-change artists, tigers and elephants all under one big top tent. I’d love for you to come out to one of our shows this month to experience the excitement firsthand. Come see us in Union Park between Friday, Oct. 10and Sunday, Oct. 20 for the experience of a lifetime! Visit www.universoulcircus.com for more info, show times, and tickets.
