Chicago musician Chip Ratliff to celebrate the international release of Resilient August 7, 2017 Chip Ratliff here and I am truly excited to share my new album, Resilient, with you! I’ll be celebrating the release with an intimate (and oh so funky) performance on Saturday, August 26 at 7pm at The Shorefront Legacy Center in Evanston, IL. I’ll be joined by my full band, which pretty much guarantees a good time! Resilient is a knockout mix of hard funk, soul and blues, but it’s more than that…it’s a statement. It’s a statement of never giving up; not letting anything or anyone get in the way of fulfilling your purpose…whatever it is! An all-star line up of local talent is on this joint: Tjuana Bothe and Kim Mahal Laude on vocals; blues renaissance man (and my uncle), Mr. Fernando Jones; Justin Amolsch on trumpet; acclaimed saxophonist Chris Greene; Chip T DuBois, Jr on guitar; his ridiculously talented nephew Chip DuBois III on drums; keyboard master Tony Cazeau and, oh yeah, some dude named Chip Ratliff! Mixed by the Grammy-nominated legend Joe Tortorici and recorded (mostly) by Rob Ruccia at Uptown Recording in Chicago, Resilient is my first full-length album release in over 10 years. It is a testament to the fact that, regardless of all the challenges and obstacles that are thrown in our paths, we all can overcome and achieve. I hope that this release not only entertains, but also inspires listeners to move forward and not let anything get in the way of practicing their purpose. When you get knocked down, get back up and keep moving forward. Be…resilient!
