Chicago SummerDance July 6, 2011 It’s that time of the year again when the parties are in full swing. So why not improve those dance moves? Chicago will be hosting its 15th annual Chicago Summerdance every Thursday through Sunday between the weeks of July 7th and September 18th. Chicago Summerdance is the largest annual outdoor dance series in the United States, and we get to experience it right here in our backyard! The series will contain a diverse arrangement of dance lessons from professional instructors in all areas of dance. The festival will feature dances from all over the world as well as local favorites. The instructor will host a one-hour dance lesson followed by two hours of live music and dancing on the Chicago Ground Cover. The Chicago Ground Cover is a 4,900 square-foot dance floor created out of recycled materials by the Minneapolis native Dan Peterman. In addition, Chicago Summerdance will also be teaming up with the Chicago Colombian Music Festival, the Latin Street Salsa Congreso, and the International American Tango Festival throughout the summer. So whether you want to brush up on your dance moves for the club, or learn a new culture’s celebration dance, Chicago Summerdance will provide you with a fun and rewarding experience.
